The Washington Nationals and the Texas Rangers meet in MLB action from Globe Life Field on Friday night.

The Washington Nationals will be out to rebound after a 7-0 loss at the hands of the Baltimore Orioles in their last matchup. Cesar Hernandez has 78 hits with 16 doubles while Josh Bell also has 75 hits, 10 doubles and 44 RBIs with a .295 batting average. Maikel Franco also has 68 hits and 15 doubles of his own while Juan Soto has 12 doubles with a team-high 14 home runs. Keibert Ruiz also has 13 doubles and Nelson Cruz has 38 RBIs as well this season. Paolo Espino will start here and is 0-1 with a 2.29 ERA and 27 strikeouts this season.

The Texas Rangers will look to build on back-to-back wins over the Philadelphia Phillies after a 4-2 win over the Phils last time out. Nate Lowe has 65 hits and a .274 batting average with 9 doubles while Adolis Garcia has 13 home runs and a team-high 45 RBIs. Corey Seager also has 61 hits, 15 homers and 32 RBIs and Brad Miller has 27 RBIs while Marcus Semien has 11 doubles and the aforementioned Garcia has 66 hits and 12 doubles as well on the year. Dane Dunning will start here and is 1-5 with a 4.38 ERA and 70 strikeouts this season.

Washington is 25-51 in their last 76 road games and 41-88 in their last 129 games overall while the over is 8-2 in their last 10 games following a loss. Texas is 21-6 in their last 27 games against the NL East while the under is 9-2 in their last 11 home games.

I get the case to be made either way in this one, but I’m looking at the under here. I’m not rusting the pitching matchup here whatsoever, but I just simply don’t trust Washington’s offense for much of anything and I also don’t see Texas blowing the Nationals out of the water here. This is going to be an ugly game. Give me the under.
