The San Diego Padres and the Colorado Rockies meet Sunday in MLB action from Coors Field. This will be the finale in a three-game weekend series. The Rockies took a six-run win in the Friday opener. In the Saturday game, Colorado kept it going with a tight victory. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

San Diego gave up 14 hits to Colorado on Friday in the series opener, flailing in a 10-4 loss. In the Saturday game two, the Padres had a 4-2 lead at one point but couldn’t hang on in a 5-4 loss. Starter Nick Martinez put up 5.0 innings with four earned on eight hits and two walks.

Starter for the Padres on Sunday will be Blake Snell. This year over his five starts Snell is 0-3 with a 5.04 ERA. In 25.0 innings Snell has 14 earned, 21 hits, 13 walks and 29 strikeouts.

Over on the Rockies’ side, they scored three runs in both the first and fourth innings on the way to the Friday win. On Saturday, Colorado scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the eighth in the comeback victory. German Marquez finished on 5.0 innings, four earned, eight hits and two walks.

Antonio Senzatela will take the mound for the start in the Sunday matchup. Over 10 starts this year Senzatela is 2-3 with a 4.79 ERA. In 47.0 innings he has 75 hits, 25 earned, 10 walks and 24 strikeouts.

The Padres are 6-1 in their last seven Sunday games and 7-3 in their last 10 in game three of a series. The over is 23-10 in San Diego’s last 33 Sunday games.

Meanwhile, the Rockies are 12-26 in their last 38 overall and 1-5 in their last six Sunday games. The under is 19-9-2 in Colorado’s last 30 Sunday games.

PICK: I’m going to take a shot on the Rockies. Senzatela had a rough start versus the Marlins to kick off the month of June (5.1 innings; six earned; 13 hits) but he’s been better since. In his last pair however, Senzatela has just four earned in 12.0 innings on 14 hits and two walks. As for Snell, he’s coming off a solid performance in his last start (also versus Colorado) with two earned on six hits and two walks in 6.0 innings. We should have a pretty good starter matchup here.
