New York Yankees third baseman Josh Donaldson found himself in hot water after he made a disrespectful comment directed at Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson. Donaldson called Anderson, who is black, ‘Jackie’, referencing a 2019 interview the White Sox star conducted with Sports Illustrated where the star shortstop compared himself to Jackie Robinson.

Donaldson’s comment enraged the White Sox and Anderson, who believed it to be a racist remark. The ‘Jackie’ comment earned the Yankees star a one-game suspension from the MLB, which he appealed. On Monday, the results of Donaldson’s appeal were announced, per the Associated Press.
