After a tumultuous 2021 NFL  season in which the Bears went 6-11, the McCaskey family made wholesale changes. General Manager Ryan Pace and Head Coach Matt Nagy were shown the door. These two will forever be known as the duo who chose Mitch Trubisky over Patrick Mahomes.

The McCaskeys brought in Ryan Poles and Matt Eberflus to turn the Bears around. Many of the key pieces of the Bears teams of the past few seasons were not brought back.

Kahlil Mack was traded to the Los Angeles Chargers, Allen Robinson left via free agency, as did interior lineman Akiem Hicks. This won’t be a total rebuild project, but the Bears have a lot of work to do to get back into the NFL playoff hunt. Let’s take a brief look at what’s on tap for the Bears this season so you can plan your bets against their NFL Team Totals odds.

2022 NFL Predictions

When the 2022 NFL win predictions were released, many felt that the Chicago Bears’ total would be anywhere from 5-7. They were correct, as the oddsmakers have set the Bears’ win total at 6.5.

According to the experts, the Bears have the eighth-easiest schedule in 2022. Second-year quarterback Justin Fields will be asked to be the focal point of the Bears’ rebuilding process. We’ll see what he can do and if he can lead the Bears to a few more wins this season.

The Schedule

Weeks 1 & 2 don’t bode well for the Chicago Bears. They open the season up with the San Francisco 49ers and then head to Green Bay for a Sunday night clash with their biggest rivals.

Things get a little easier in Weeks 3 & 4, as they play the Houston Texans and then take a trip to New Jersey to take on the New York Giants. Both the Texans and Giants are in the same situation as the Bears.

Weeks 5-8 will be a tough stretch. In Week 5, they’ll head to Minnesota to play the Vikings. They then host the Washington Commanders on a Thursday night.

Next up is a date with the New England Patriots at Foxboro on a Monday night. That will be followed up by a trip to Dallas to take on the Cowboys.

They’ll play the Miami Dolphins in Week 9; they’ll then have the easiest stretch of their season. In Week 10, they’ll host the Detroit Lions.

That will be followed by a trip to Atlanta and then their second trip of the season to New Jersey to take on the Jets. While the Lions are getting better, they still have work to do, and the Falcons and Jets are also in the lower tier of NFL teams.

Weeks 13-16 will provide a challenge, as the Bears will meet up with three playoff teams from last season. They’ll host Green Bay Packers, followed by their bye week. They’ll then host the Philadelphia Eagles and then the Buffalo Bills on Christmas Eve.

Their season will end with a trip to Detroit, followed by their NFL season finale, a home game with the Vikings.
