The Los Angeles Lakers have already started their coaching search with a number of initial interviews among their preferred candidates, but they are not rushing the hiring process.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Lakers are purposely taking things slow as they hope to see whether or not top coaches like Doc Rivers and Quin Snyder will be available in the offseason. Rivers is still in the playoffs with the Philadelphia 76ers–facing the Miami Heat in the second round–while Snyder was just recently eliminated from postseason contention along with his Utah Jazz and there hasn’t been any update with regards to his future.
