In looking at the Western Conference, many feel that one of the top three seeds will win the conference. Throughout the regular season, it was a three-team race for the top spot, as Phoenix, Memphis, and Golden State were all vying for the top seed.

Now that we’re in the playoffs, anything can happen, and there could be a surprise or two along the way. Let’s take a look at some of the top contenders, along with their NBA Conference Odds, to win the Western Conference and earn an NBA Finals berth.

Updated Western Conference Championship Odds and Top Contenders | NBA Playoffs Betting

Phoenix Suns +200

Phoenix was the best team in the league this season, finishing with the best record in the NBA. They also had the best road record in the league. With Devin Booker and Chris Paul playing at an elite level, the Suns know that they can beat anyone.

Mikal Bridges has taken the next step, and DeAndre Ayton seems to get better and better every game. Jae Crowder brings a toughness and energy to the floor, and Phoenix has good depth. We’ll see if Paul can finally get that elusive NBA title.

Golden State Warriors +500

Steph Curry is back! He looked like his old self in Game 2 against the Denver Nuggets. With Curry back playing well (and coming off the bench, we might add), along with Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson, the Splash Brothers +1 are ready to make another title run.

Draymond Green is one of the league’s most versatile defenders, and Kevon Looney can guard a dominant post player. If Golden State is on from the perimeter, they’ll be hard for anyone to stop.

Memphis Grizzlies +2000

Even though they lost Game 1 to the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Grizzlies still have a lot of fight left in them. Now that Ja Morant is back, they have a scoring trio that can compete with anyone. Desmond Bane, Dillon Brooks, and Morant can put points up in bunches.

Jaren Jackson Jr. can also score inside or outside. This team has the ability to defend well, and if they want to get past Minnesota, they’ll have to do a good job on the defensive end of the floor.

Utah Jazz +3500

Rudy Gobert didn’t score a lot in Game 1, but his defensive presence really bothered the Dallas Mavericks. Utah will need to step it up on the defensive end if they want to move on to the second round.

They will also need to hit more perimeter shots, as they tend to live and die by the three-pointer.

Dallas Mavericks +5000

Dallas would have better odds if the oddsmakers knew whether or not Luka Doncic would play during this series. Thus far, the series between Dallas and Utah is tied at one game apiece, and Doncic has yet to play.

Jalen Brunson was big in Game 2, replacing Doncic in the starting lineup and scoring 41 points. If Doncic doesn’t play, and they continue to get efforts like Brunson’s, they have a great shot at moving on to the second round. And if Doncic does come back, they have an even better shot.
