The New Jersey Devils (26-42-7) head to Sin City to meet the Vegas Golden Knights (41-30-5) Monday at T-Mobile Arena. Puck drop is set for 10 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we look at the Devils vs. Golden Knights odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.
The Devils have dropped 2 in a row after their 4-3 shootout loss to the expansion Seattle Kraken Saturday. They have now lost 5 of 7 and are struggling without their phenom C Jack Hughes, who was lost for the season with a knee injury April 3.
Vegas was punked 4-0 by the Edmonton Oilers Saturday. They have traded wins and losses over the last 6 games. So that’s good news for this one.
Devils at Golden Knights odds and lines
- Money line: Devils +260 (bet $100 to win $260) | Golden Knights -340 (bet $340 to win $100)
- Against the spread (ATS): Devils +1.5 (+110) | Golden Knights -1.5 (-135)
- Over/Under (O/U): 6.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)
Devils at Golden Knights projected goalies
Nico Daws (10-11-1, 3.11 GAA, .893 SV%) vs. Robin Lehner (23-16-2, 2.82 GAA, .907 SV%, 1 SO)
Daws has been better in April with a 2-2-1 record, 2.64 GAA and .891 SV%. He has held teams to 3 or fewer goals in 5 straight starts. He hasn’t faced Vegas this season.
Lehner is questionable after he left the team’s road trip to tend to a family emergency. Back home now, one would think he’d be ready — or they can turn to Logan Thompson again. Lehner is 2-1-1 with a 3.23 GAA and 888 SV% this month.
Money line
Vegas beat the Devils 5-3 in a December matchup, and have won the last 4 meetings. There’s no way we’re risking more than 3 times our return here, though. PASS.
Against the spread
It’s always a risk going on the puck line because a team can take its foot off the gas late and only win by a goal or possess the puck too well to get an empty-net chance. Vegas has handily won the last 2 meetings, and there’s no reason to believe they won’t do it again with Jersey out of it and banged up. LEAN GOLDEN KNIGHTS -1.5 (-135).
Over/Under
The Over is 6-0 in Vegas’ last 6 home games; 4-0 in the last 4 in which Vegas was favored; and 4-0 in Jersey’s last 4 games against the Pacific Division. The Over has hit in 2 of the last 3 between these teams. I don’t have a whole lot of confidence in this play after Vegas was just shut out, but the trends LEAN OVER 6.5 (-110). Personally, I’d wait until after puck drop and try to get the Over to come down to 5.5 a few minutes in.
