The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Minnesota Twins meet in MLB action from Target Field on Wednesday night.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will try to build on their 7-2 win over the Twins from Tuesday. Will Smith and Gavin Lux each had a double and two RBIs with Lux going 2 for 4 at the dish in the win. Justin Turner and Trea Turner each had an RBI while Freddie Freeman and Chris Taylor each had a double with Freeman going 2 for 4 at the dish in the victory. Andrew Heaney threw 4.1 innings of shutout ball, allowing just three hits while striking out five, not factoring in the decision. Daniel Hudson got the win in relief to improve to 1-0 on the year. Clayton Kershaw will start here and was 10-8 with a 3.55 ERA and 144 strikeouts last season.

The Minnesota Twins will try to bounce back from their defeat at the hands of the Dodgers on Wednesday. Max Kepler and Carlos Correa each had two hits with a double, with Kepler logging an RBI while Correa had a pair of two-baggers in the losing effort. Jorge Polanco added a base hit as well as the Twins logged just five hits as a team in the losing effort. Chris Archer threw four innings of two-hit shutout baseball, striking out three, not factoring in the decision. Emilio Pagan took the loss, falling to 0-1 on the year as a result. Chris Paddack is expected to make the start for the Twins here and was 7-7 with a 5.07 ERA in 23 games for the San Diego Padres last season.

I get the case to be made for either side in this one, but I’m going to side with the Dodgers here. Chris Paddack stunk against the Dodgers last year and over the course of his career quite frankly and while Clayton Kershaw doesn’t look like the ace he once was from a health standpoint, he’s still the more reliable arm here with the better lineup behind him. I’ll back the Dodgers here.
