The New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies meet in an NL East division matchup in MLB action from Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday night.

The New York Mets will look to rebound from a 5-4 loss to the Phillies in Monday’s series opener. Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso, Eduardo Escobar and Mark Canha each had an RBI to make up the scoring for the Mets in the win while Brandon Nimmo had a pair of hits and Starling Marte and J.D. Davis each had a base hit to finish off the offense for the Mets in the defeat. Taijuan Walker threw two no-hit innings, striking out four in the start, not factoring in the decision. Seth Lugo ended up with the loss in relief. Tylor Megill will start here and is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 6 strikeouts this season.

The Philadelphia Phillies will try to build on their win over the Mets from Monday’s opener. J.T. Realmuto had a two-run home run while Didi Gregorius and Rhys Hoskins each had a double and an RBI with Gregorius having a double, going 2 for 4. Kyle Schwarber added an RBI as well to finish off the scoring for the Phillies in the win while Alec Bohm added a double and Jean Segura and Nick Castellanos each had base hits as well to cap off Philadelphia’s offense in the victory. Ranger Suarez allowed three runs on five hits over 2.2 innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Seranthony Dominguez got the win while Brad Hand closed the door in the 9th for the save. Zach Wheeler will start here and was 14-10 with a 2.78 ERA last season.

I get why you could look the way of the Mets here as Megill shined in his season debut. However, the Mets choked away a win in typical Mets fashion on Monday and Zack Wheeler isn’t the pitcher you want to see when you’re trying to rebound if you’re the Mets. Wheeler started out slow against the Mets last year, but ended up with a 3-1 record in five starts and I think that Wheeler leads the Phils to a win in this one.
