The season has wrapped. Kansas is the national champion. The coaching carousel only has a few more vacancies to fill. The offseason has arrived, and it will be more than 210 days before we get college hoops again.

In most years, the number of jobs that switch hands crossed the 50-mark. Lo and behold, 52 jobs have changed as of this story's most recent publishing. The most recent news, and perhaps the last big name we'll see in the cycle, is San Diego hiring Steve Lavin. It's a surprise decision, considering Lavin last coached in 2015 and had developed a strong reputation as an analyst across TV and radio platforms. One source said Lavin was interested in the job, but also wanted to be sure San Diego was willing to commit and pay his entire staff at a salary level that was as good or better as any non-Gonzaga or BYU program in the WCC.

Lavin coached UCLA from 1996-2003 and St. John's from 2010-2015. He's 226-133 for his career.
