The inaugural HBCU Legacy Bowl is set to be played today.

This all-star game was created to give the best players and coaches from Historically Black Colleges and Universities a showcase in front of NFL decision-makers. Founded in coordination with the Black College Football Hall of Fame, the HBCU Legacy Bowl is set to be played annually. The bowl’s teams are named to honor Jake Gaither (Florida A&M 1945-1973) and Eddie Robinson (Grambling State 1941-1997), who were two of the greatest and longest-tenured coaches in HBCU history.

This game has received tremendous support from the NFL and its players, including Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, whose foundation pledged a multi-year commitment to support the game in March of 2021. Mahomes will actually be in attendance at the game, joining Doug Williams and James “Shack” Harris as the honorary coin toss captains.

Below are important game details about the all-star game. If you have questions about the game, reach out to us on Twitter @TheChiefsWire.
