San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has an uncertain future with his current team entering the 2022 NFL offseason. Garoppolo currently has one year remaining on his five-year, $137 million contract that he signed back in 2018, but the 49ers may choose to move forward with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Trey Lance.

The 49ers finished the regular season 10-7 and will take on the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday in the Wild-Card round of the upcoming NFL playoffs. In 15 games this season, Garoppolo completed 68.3% of his passes for 3,810 yards with 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

During a press conference Wednesday, Garoppolo was asked about this Sunday’s game against the Cowboys potentially being his final in a 49ers uniform.

“It’s always in the back of your mind,” Garoppolo said, via Josh Dubow of the Associated Press. “It has been in mine really this whole season. I knew what type of season it was, knew everything that was going on behind the scenes and whatnot.
