Washington Football Team safety Deshazor Everett was involved in a car crash in Virginia on Thursday night that claimed the life of his female passenger.

Everett was driving in Loudoun County, which sits just outside of Washington D.C., when police said the vehicle “left the right side of the roadway, struck several trees and rolled over.” 29-year-old Olivia Peters, who hails from Las Vegas, was taken to a local hospital where she later died of her injuries.

Everett was taken to a hospital, too, and sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
