Serrano versus Gutierrez Headlines Paul vs Woodley Undercard

Carlos Gongora -150 vs Lerrone Richards +120

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 18

20-0 with 15 knockout victories, Gongora has won 2-of-4 via TKO or KO. The young fighter has developed power, which will make him difficult to beat in this.

Lerrone Richards is also undefeated. The difference? Richards has won just 3 fights via knockout. The lack of power will hurt him versus a strong boxer like Gongora. The favorite wins.

Boxing Pick: Carlos Gongora

Joseph Parker -280 vs Dereck Chisora +220

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 18

Chisora is 32-11 with 23 knockout victories. He most definitely has a shot to win this because of his experience and because in the last bout, Chisora lost a split-decision to Joseph Parker.

Parker has a much better jab. But he doesn’t use it enough. Not only that, it looked like Chisora had the first fight won. The underdog’s trainer, Buddy McGirt, will have his fighter more primed for the upset in the second bout. At the odds, Chisora is a must play.

Boxing Pick: Dereck Chisora

Paul vs Woodley 2 Undercard

  • Liam Paro -150 / Yomar Alamo +120

21-0 Australian boxer Liam Paro has built a nice record versus suspect competition. Also, Paro has just 13 knockout from his 21 wins. Since Paro has fought almost exclusively in Australia, we must question his power.

Yomar Alamo is 20-0-1 with 12 knockout wins. Alamo has fought mainly in the United States, which means he’s, no doubt, fought the much better trained opponents. Paro has the look of a paper tiger. So we’re going with Alamo.

Boxing Pick: Yomar Alamo

  • Deron Williams -150 / Frank Gore +110

Frank Gore and Deron Williams throw down in what should be an entertaining boxing match. Both were stellar in their previous careers. When he was on the court, Williams was one of the best point guards in the NBA.

Gore is one of the most prolific running backs in NFL history. Williams has a slight edge because he opened an MMA gym in Dallas and has combat sports experience. Gore, though, is a beast. In training videos, it’s obvious Gore knows what he’s doing.

Not only that, but let’s not kid ourselves. Anybody who can play running back in the NFL for 16 years and average 4.3 yards a carry for his career is a tough dude. The average RB career is 3 seasons. So, yeah, Gore is a monster.

Boxing Pick: Frank Gore

  • Amanda Serrano -2000 / Miriam Gutierrez +1200

Serrano brings a 41-1-1 record into the ring versus tough Miriam Gutierrez. Serrano fought hard to beat Yamileth Mercado in her last.

But although Serrano didn’t knockout Mercado, she was in charge from the opening bell, pressuring Mercado, landing her jab and setting up combinations.

The challenger is tough. Katie Taylor couldn’t knock her out. So the 38-year-old from Spain figures to bring it. However, Gutierrez will leave herself wide open for Serrano’s excellent 1-2. Expect Amanda to land the jab and right all day, like she did versus Mercado, on her way to another easy victory.

Boxing Pick: Amanda Serrano
