Amarius Mims, a five-star offensive tackle ranked among the nation's top prospects in the 2021 recruiting cycle, announced his commitment to Georgia live Wednesday afternoon on CBS Sports HQ. The 6-foot-7, 315-pound Cochran (Ga.) Bleckley County standout picked the home-state Bulldogs over Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, and Florida State.
The industry-generated 247Sports Composite rates Mims as a five-star recruit who is ranked No. 6 overall in the country's 2021 recruiting class. He is ranked No. 2 nationally among 2021 offensive tackle prospects, as well as No. 1 overall regardless of position in the state of Georgia for the 2021 cycle.
Mims is now the highest-ranked player in Georgia's 2021 recruiting class. Adding Mims to the fold shoots the Bulldogs up the 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings to No. 7 in the country and No. 3 in the SEC. Prior to Mims' commitment, Georgia sat at No. 14 nationally and fifth in the conference.
