Hall of Famer Wade Boggs had an apparent bout with pneumonia last month but wonders if it may have actually been the coronavirus.
"About the beginning of March, I had pneumonia and just three days of high fever and cough and all that good stuff," Boggs told Marc Topkin of The Tampa Bay Times. "I went to the hospital and tested negative for flu, but I had pneumonia. I'm curious to find the antibody test and see if I actually did have (COVID-19)."
The 61-year-old, who added that the recovery was "a really rough few days," acts as an ambassador for the Boston Red Sox and believes left-hander Chris Sale could have passed the virus to him during a visit to spring training camp.
