Leading scorer Keyontae Johnson returning to Gators for junior year

Orlando Sentinel

UF coach Mike White got more good offseason news Tuesday when leading scorer Keyontae Johnson announced he plans to return to school.

Johnson’s emergence as a sophomore this past season led to speculation he might enter the NBA draft. He recorded five double-doubles during the season’s closing nine games to earn a spot on the nine-man All-SEC first team.

Johnson led the Gators with an average 14 points and 38 total steals. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound forward was second on the team with 7.1 rebounds a game and a 3-point shooting percentage of 38%. He also chipped in 49 assists.
