With the final rankings less than a week away, another powerhouse school is out of the playoff hunt.
The College Football Playoff selection committee unveiled its fifth rankings of the season Tuesday without any change to the top four, but with SEC early-favorite Alabama essentially eliminated after its second loss this year.
Ohio State remained on top after a 56-27 win over arch-rival Michigan. The Buckeyes are followed by LSU, Clemson, and Georgia.
Alabama, which entered the week as the fifth-ranked team, will miss its first-ever College Football Playoff since the new format started.
