Five-star shooting guard Cam Thomas has committed to LSU during the early signing period, giving Will Wade and the Tigers at least one five-star prospect in the third straight signing class. His mother told 247Sports' Evan Daniels Monday that the 6-3, 180-pound guard picked the Tigers over Auburn, NC State, UCLA, UConn and others during the recruiting process.

Thomas took an official visit to NC State in October 2018 before visiting LSU in early September, followed by official visits to Auburn and UCLA. According to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite and 247Sports, Thomas ranks as the No. 24 overall prospect in the country, No. 6 shooting guard nationally and no. 2 prospect in the state of Virginia.

Here's the 247Sports director of basketball recruiting Evan Daniels' scouting report on Thomas, who compares well to Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons and seems like a natural replacement for senior guard Skylar Mays.
