NHLPA declines option, CBA extends to 2022

TSN

The National Hockey League Players' Association has declined their option to re-open the collective bargaining agreement, which will now remain in effect through the 2021-2022 season.

The NHL declined their option to re-open the CBA in August, leaving the the decision in the hands of the players with a deadline to reopen set for Monday.

"While players concerns with the current CBA, we agree with the league that working together to address those concerns is the preferred course of action instead of terminating the agreement following this season,” NHLPA executive director Donald Fehr said.
