A University of Oklahoma student named Mallory Jech on Friday identified herself as an alleged victim of abuse by Oklahoma running back Kennedy Brooks, who was cleared by OU’s Title IX office in an investigation nearly one month ago.
Brooks was held out of OU football activities while Title IX investigated the allegations, according to The Athletic, but was reinstated July 10 after the office finished its findings.
An unverified Twitter account belonging to Jech alleged mental and physical violence in a lengthy Twitter thread and said she is “being played as the girl who lied about being abused. However, I’m the girl who protected a liar & an abuser’s career. Until now.”
Jech, who did not respond to The Transcript's request for comment, included in her 16 tweets that she and Brooks dated from June 2018 to the end of March, and that she went to OU’s Title IX office in May with abuse allegations. Months before that, Jech wrote, she had called the Title IX office to discredit others' reports that Brooks was abusing her, in an attempt to protect his football career and herself.
