Shadrach Banks wasn’t necessarily a secret last season – especially on Houston’s eastside – but if the North Shore receiver’s name was foreign in any other corner of the city, that was swiftly rectified.
Now Banks takes his brightened star to College Station. The junior verbally committed to Texas A&M on Thursday, giving the Aggies one of the country’s top Class of 2021 prospects.
Listed as an athlete, Banks is ranked 10th overall in 247Sports’ Class of 2021 rankings for the state.
He was a sophomore sensation for the state champion Mustangs, particularly through the playoffs and penultimately in the Class 6A Division I state title game with nine catches for 179 yards and two scores in a 41-36 win over Duncanville. Banks finished with 1,312 yards recovering and 17 touchdowns in 2018.
