It sure looks like there’s some hurt feelings in negotiations between the Dallas Cowboys and holdout running back Ezekiel Elliott.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones went on record recently indicating that his team does not need the reigning rushing champion on the field to win the Super Bowl.
With negotiations previously said to be taking a turn for the better, Jones went on record again Wednesday to throw the gauntlet down on Mr. Elliott.
"The Cowboys are invested in Zeke, they believe in Zeke. … Jerry said, 'I went to bat for you.' I think that is being reminded in these negotiations." — @SlaterNFL pic.twitter.com/D1GuQE5EuH — UNDISPUTED (@undisputed) July 31, 2019
“I went to bat for you.”
There’s no reason to read between the lines here. Those words are as clear as the air.
