As Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon continues his holdout in hopes of landing a big contract, quarterback Philip Rivers appears willing to make a few sacrifices to try and bring Gordon back into the fold.
During an interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio, Rivers indicated he’s willing to play out the final year of his contract and even seemed open to the idea of leaving money on the table this year for Gordon.
“If it does, awesome.” Rivers said, via SiriusXM. You want our team to have the best chance to go win and hopefully we see Melvin soon. I think Melvin adds a great deal to our team, you see what he’s done, he’s scored what 38 touchdowns in the past handful of years, there’s only a handful of guys that have done that.”
