The San Francisco Giants may have one of the most coveted arms on the market this trade season, but they're letting suitors come to them.
Giants president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi recently rebuffed reports his club has pulled back from trade talks involving Madison Bumgarner simply because it hasn't been the party seeking out a deal.
"Among the many things that I've read that got a little bit of an eye roll for me was this notion that we are pulling back from Bumgarner talks," Zaidi told Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic. "I mean, first of all … what's been reported that we made a push to trade him a month ago was completely false. We've gotten calls about Madison going back to the offseason and into this year.
"It's my job to listen to those conversations and process them but I don't know what we'd be pulling back from because we have not been the aggressors in any of those conversations. We're just having conversations on background like everybody, every team."
