Ypsilanti Lincoln star sophomore Emoni Bates received an NCAA Division I scholarship offer from Michigan on Thursday — his second in-state offer in a week.
Bates, the top-ranked player in the 2022 class, received an offer from Michigan State on Friday and also holds offers from Florida State and DePaul.
The 6-foot-9, 180-pounder, who led Lincoln to its first state title in 2018-19, is coming off a strong performance at Peach Jam, largely considered the best AAU basketball tournament of the summer, last week.
He averaged 28.3 points and 10.3 rebounds in three games, helping Bates Fundamentals, which is coached by Bates' father, E.J. Bates, to a 2-1 record in the 15U division.
