After losing Game 4 of the NBA Finals to the Toronto Raptors, the Golden State Warriors find themselves down 3-1 in the series, and staring at not only a Finals loss, but the possible end of the teams incredible run as the latest dynasty in the NBA. With tons hanging in the balance, Warriors fans continue to hold out hope that Kevin Durant will somehow find a way to play, but it seems as if that is a bit unlikely.
According to The Athletic’s Tim Kawakami, Durant continues to try and work out with the hopes of getting on the court, but it seems as if something might have changed.
“But there are signals. There are hints that something changed somewhere in the last few days, maybe involving the recovery or the doctors or Durant’s decision-making process,” Kawakami wrote. “And it’s hard to get a real read from Durant because he’s dropped back mostly out of sight the last few days and he doesn’t sit on the bench during games the way Thompson and Looney did when they missed Game 3.”
From the sound of it, Durant either re-aggravated his injury, or perhaps simply underestimated how tough it would be to come back so quick.
