While we are still waiting for the official word from the player himself, all indications as of Wednesday afternoon are that Chris Steele is going to enroll at USC — ending a winding journey that saw the four-star freshman transfer from Florida and then commit to Oregon within a week’s time last month.
For a quick refresher, the Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco defensive back originally committed to USC back in July of 2018. His commitment didn’t last long and the corner decommitted from the Trojans just a few months later in October.
At the All-American Bowl in San Antonio on Jan. 5, Steele, the No. 42 overall player in the 247Sports Composite, committed to Florida and enrolled two days later. He had already signed a letter of intent with the Gators during the Early Signing Period in December.
