Heading into last night, it looked as if the Mets were starting to find a groove. They won three of their last four games, and it was the verge of being four for their last five.
That is until the bullpen imploded and the Dodgers came away with a 9-8 victory — a tough loss for the Mets.
But that has kind of been the theme for the Mets this season. They get hot for a little while, but cool off before they can really get something special going. It is why they have hovered around .500 all season.
Though there is still tons of games left to play (107 to be exact), teams around the league are beginning to feel out their opponents to see if they'd be buyers or sellers near the trade deadline. So what does the baseball world think of the Mets? SNY's Andy Martino has been hearing some things.
