Nationals Should Fire Dave Martinez Following Sweep Against Mets

12 Up

Coming into the week, you could've made the argument that New York Mets manager Mickey Callaway was on the hot seat and might not finish out the week with the way things were going in Queens.

But that was before his Mets swept the Washington Nationals in a four-game series, making it hard for Nats ownership and front office to stay the course and keep manager Dave Martinez around, whose talented club has a 19-31 record and is 9.5 games out of the NL East.

His tirade from today's game that led to his ejection might very well be the last thing he does as the skipper of the Nats.
