Stephen Curry, Seth Curry to be first brothers to play in conference finals

Clutch Points

It won’t be spicy Curry — with no bitter taste or resentments — but it will be wet Curry with all the 3-point splashdowns likely to occur: Yes, Stephen Curry and Seth Curry will meet in the 2019 NBA Western Conference Finals, the first time in league history that two brothers will meet in a conference finals series.

Stephen Curry was waiting to see if Seth Curry could join him on the big stage, and when C.J. McCollum’s 37-point masterpiece carried the Portland Trail Blazers past the Denver Nuggets in Game 7 of their West semifinal series on Sunday afternoon, the Curry brothers realized their dream. One of the two brothers will compete in the NBA Finals this June.

Sonya and Dell Curry, the parents of the two Western Conference finalists, will wear Warriors and Blazers gear to the West Finals and have a grand old time cheering on their sons. This, along with Damian Lillard returning to Oakland, his birthplace, for the Warriors’ final postseason in that city, will give the Western Conference Finals a feel-good flavor. Some postseason clashes are delicious and anticipated because of how nasty they can be, the Warriors’ win over the Houston Rockets being a representative example.
