Antonio Brown and the Steelers' ugly divorce is long over, and Pittsburgh is moving on with…rookie tight end Milan Richard?
During rookie minicamp, the ?Steelers assigned Brown's No. 84 to Richard, officially marking the symbolic beginning of the post-AB era in Pittsburgh. Richard's future with the Steelers is uncertain, but the No. 84 jersey is up for grabs, despite the accolades of the last player to don it in the Steel City.
Pittsburgh has yet to give out Le'Veon Bell's No. 26, but you can bet they plan to in short order. It's no slight to Bell or Brown, but they cannot and should not honor those who willfully did not play out their contracts as Steelers.
Richard is a rookie camp invitee out of Clemson University. During his time with Dabo Swinney and Co., Richard registered 269 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Safe to say he's hoping to make the team to be featured in specific run packages as a third tight end, if anything.
