Following another injury at catcher, the Tampa Bay Rays struck quickly on Friday to add necessary depth to the backstop by landing a former top prospect.
According to Marc Topkin of The Tampa Bay Times, the Rays agreed to a deal sending cash considerations to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for catcher Travis d’Arnaud.
d’Arnaud, who spent the first six seasons of his MLB career with the New York Mets, signed with the Dodgers on May 5 just a few days after being released by the Mets.
