Purdue is a team to watch for in the pursuit of Michigan graduate transfer quarterback Brandon Peters, sources close to the situation told 247Sports.
Peters entered the transfer portal over the weekend, likely ending his Wolverines career. The former No. 61 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite made four starts in Ann Arbor and appeared in 11 career games. He’ll be a redshirt junior at his next stop and immediately eligible.
A native of Avon, Indiana, Peters grew up about an hour away from West Lafayette. His sister, Brooke, played volleyball for the Boilermakers the last four years. Combine those factors and Purdue is a potentially soft landing spot for the former four-star passer.
System and fit also make Purdue an intriguing match for the Indiana native.
Peters remains a tantalizing talent. A 6-foot-5, 230-pound pro-style passer with plus athletic ability – he was a potential Division I basketball recruit – Peters isn’t too far removed from looking like Michigan’s future.
