The Cleveland Browns made headlines with their acquisition of former New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. this offseason. It appears the star wideout had a feeling that he would ultimately end up in Cleveland.
There had been plenty of speculation regarding Beckham’s future in New York since last offseason.
He said during an interview with Cam Wolf of GQ, that he assumed he would be traded to Cleveland last year:
The star receiver endured persistent trade rumors when he was with the Giants, and says that around December of last year he started to feel “something in my gut…I just wasn’t very happy.” Beckham says he thought he was going to be traded two years ago—and that he really believed he’d be traded to the Browns last year. “It just became not the right fit,” he says of New York.
Rumors had been swirling about Beckham’s future for quite some time. The Giants had been in the midst of some significant changes and it is clear that both sides still seemed to be at odds.
