Cam Newton is clearly the star quarterback of the Carolina Panthers over the past few years, but he did he suffer a shoulder injury which took him out of the 2018 season prematurely.
Because of that, the team went out and drafted QB Will Grier in the 2019 NFL Draft. If the team actually decided that Cam’s shoulder might not be quite right, the franchise could actually part ways with him in 2019 and it won’t cost them much even though he still has $44.3 million left on his contract.
Cam Newton is coming off of a major injury and has just two years and $44.3 million left on his contract. If he isn't right, the Panthers can cut or trade him and eat just $2 million.
Don't sleep on Will Grier. — Anthony Amico (@amicsta) May 5, 2019
