Report: Timberwolves to interview Nets’ Trajan Langdon for front-office job

Nets Daily

Nets assistant GM Trajan Langdon, who’s previously been linked to then-vacant GM jobs in Washington and New Orleans, will interview for the job of president of basketball operations with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Among the other candidates for the POBO job are former Piston great Chauncey Billups, Denver Nuggets assistant GM Calvin Booth, LA Clippers GM Michael Winger and Houston Rockets VP Gersson Rosas.

According to previous reports, the 42-year-old Langdon interviewed for the Pelican job which went to David Griffin, the former Cavaliers GM. The Wizards have yet to hire a new chief executive. Tommy Sheppard, the interim GM and former No. 2 to the fired Ernie Grunfeld, is currently seen as the leading candidate.

The Minnesota job is seen as one of the best out there. The Timberwolves made the playoffs a year ago and have a young roster topped by Karl Anthony Towns. Griffin of course need to figure out how badly Anthony Davis wants to leave while the Wizards are a slew of big contracts topped by John Wall, who could be out for all of next season and part of 2020-21 with a ruptured Achilles tendon.
