Nick Saban revealed a hip injury less than a week ago and now he knows the plan moving forward.
The 67-year old coach on Friday told USA Today he would be having a right hip replacement surgery. An Alabama spokesman told AL.com the procedure is expected to take place early next week.
Saban told the paper he had not felt pain in the hip until the first day of spring practice last month. It felt like a hip flexor, he told USA Today and it only got worse.
The issue was first addressed at the end of his new conference following Saturday’s A-Day game. He said he wanted to get it checked out but had not determined to get the replacement surgery.
