Trevor Rosenthal Is Off To 1 Of The Worst Pitching Starts In MLB History

The Spun

In 2016, Trevor Rosenthal was one of the best relievers in all of baseball. The St. Louis Cardinals closer had 48 saves with a 2.10 ERA and a 2.6 WAR.

In 2019, Trevor Rosenthal is one of the worst pitchers in the history of baseball.

It’s early, of course, as the Washington Nationals – the team Rosenthal signed with after missing all of 2018 with Tommy John surgery – are only in their eighth game of the year.

Still, Rosenthal has been an absolute nightmare out of the bullpen for the NL East contenders.

Rosenthal has made four appearances out of the bullpen. He has faced nine batters. He’s retired none of them. And his ERA is infinity.
