The New England Patriots officially placed tight end Rob Gronkowski on the league’s reserve/retired list Tuesday.

Gronkowski no longer counts $11.86 million against the team’s 2019 cap and has freed up a spot on its 90-man roster. The 29-year-old tight end announced his decision to retire Sunday night via Instagram. He had been contemplating retirement since the end of Super Bowl LIII and also considered hanging it up during the 2018 offseason.
