Kevin Durant Defends Burner Accounts: ‘I Wanted a Place Where I Could Talk to My Friends’

Complex

All the way back in 2017, fans began speculating that Kevin Durant had a burner account that he used to defend himself on Twitter. He later denied it, but ever since he's been a lot quieter on social media.

Now, he's finally getting candid about the situation in a new episode of The Boardroom on ESPN+. Speaking with Jay Williams, he said, "I wasn't used to that amount of attention, you know, from playing basketball. I wanted a place where I can talk to my friends without anybody just butting in my conversations or mixing my words or taking everything out of context because I enjoyed that place."
