Brendan Rodgers explains decision to leave Celtic for Leicester City

Metro

New Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers says the Foxes have enormous potential and is excited to start work at the King Power, while he admits he took Celtic ‘as far as I could’.

The Northern Irishman was named as Claude Puel’s successor on Tuesday evening, signing a contract until 2022, and will watch his new side take on Brighton later tonight.

Having won seven major trophies with Celtic, Rodgers felt there was little left to achieve in Scottish football and is thrilled to be back in the Premier League.
