Quarterback flips commitment from Georgia

Atlanta Journal-Constitution

John Rhys Plumlee on Monday night flipped his commitment to Ole Miss after initially pledging to Georgia in the summer.

Georgia had asked Plumlee to take a blueshirt, meaning that he would not have been on scholarship until classes start until the fall and that his scholarship would count toward the 2020 total. Plumlee could not have enrolled early and he would’ve had to pay his way through his first few months on campus.

With the news of Justin Fields was transferring, the Bulldogs were projected to have just one scholarship quarterback in Jake Fromm before signing Stetson Bennett and Dwan Mathis in December.
