After learning of trade talks between the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans, the camp for Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball reiterated that New Orleans is not a desired destination, according to a report from Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times.
While Ball does not have a trade clause in his contract and has no say in where he goes next, Ganguli reported both Ball and the Phoenix Suns have a mutual interest.
A high-ranking Suns official contacted by Amico Hoops said there have been no conversations with Ball or his camp since prior to the 2017 draft, when Ball was selected by the Lakers with the second overall pick.
“We have expressed no interest in anyone but our own players,” the official said.
The Lakers have held trade discussions with the Pelicans centered on All-Star big man Anthony Davis. Ball reportedly has been part of the Lakers’ proposed packages.
