Eagles unlikely to tag and trade Nick Foles

Larry Brown Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles appear set to do a solid for quarterback Nick Foles and let him walk with no strings attached.

According to Cecil Lammey of 104.3 The Fan, the Eagles appear likely to let Foles walk instead of trying to pick up his mutual option or exploring a franchise tag due to salary cap limitations. That would entitle the Eagles to a compensatory third-round pick, but that’s all.

There had been some talk that the Eagles might try to work with Foles to set up a situation where they could explore a trade, but that doesn’t appear likely.
