Ohio State has an extra scholarship available at the quarterback position now that Tate Martell has transferred, and the player who might end up filling that spot is one Buckeyes fans should be familiar with.
Texas A&M quarterback Nick Starkel announced this week that he is exploring the possibility of transferring, and he said Wednesday that Ohio State is among the programs he is looking at.
Starkel is leaving Texas A&M as a graduate transfer, meaning he will be eligible to play immediately at a new school. He’s unlikely to see any significant playing time at Ohio State, especially if Georgia transfer Justin Fields is able to obtain an eligibility waiver for 2019. However, his history with Martell is noteworthy.
