UConn's matchup against Tulsa took an unusual turn when both coaches were ejected in the second half of Wednesday's game after what appeared to be just a handshake. But, of course, there's more to it than that.
Huskies' Dan Hurley and Golden Hurricane's Frank Haith engaged in a heated argument on the sideline with 11:40 to play while Tulsa led, 61-47. Both received technical fouls for arguing with one another, and they appeared to come together and shake hands once the situation calmed down.
But that's when things intensified more as they both were assessed a second technical and ejected from the game.
Hurley and Haith were upset after Tulsa's 89-83 victory, saying they felt the officiating crew overreacted. Hurley added it was "an embarrassment for the league" and apologized to Connecticut for his ejection, though he believes it was an officiating problem.
