Darren Rizzi won’t be the only in-house candidate to interview to become the Miami Dolphins’ next head coach.
Team owner Steve Ross and general manager Chris Grier are also meeting with Dowell Loggains, who served as Miami’s offensive coordinator last season, on Friday.
Loggains, who has worked for five different franchises since 2005, has primarily worked with quarterbacks throughout his career.
It is possible that his conversation with Ross and Grier could help management get to the heart of the team’s offensive issues, and quarterback Ryan Tannehill’s shortcomings as a starter.
Loggains has a reputation for telling harsh truths, and Ross and Grier could benefit from those conversations with members of the previous coaching staff.
