Mike McCarthy Only Pursuing Jets’ HC Job

NFL Trade Rumors

Adam Schefter reports that former Packers HC Mike McCarthy is only pursuing the New York Jets’ head coaching vacancy and is not interested any other jobs around the league.

The list of reported interviews for the Jets includes:

Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy (Interviewed)

Former Dolphins HC Adam Gase (Interviewed)

Cowboys passing game coordinator/DBs coach Kris Richard (Expected)

Buccaneers OC Todd Monken (Requested)

Former Lions & Colts HC Jim Caldwell (Expected)

Iowa State coach Matt Campbell (Declined)

USC OC Kliff Kingsbury (Expected)

Baylor HC Matt Rhule (Interested)

Former Packers HC Mike McCarthy (Interviewed)

Yesterday, Rob Demovksy reported that the Browns spoke with either McCarthy or his reps on Monday but put negotiations “on hold” while Cleveland spoke to other head-coaching candidates.

However, it appears that McCarthy is not interested in the Browns’ job and is only focused on the Jets.
