Predators activate Filip Forsberg from injured reserve

Tennessean

Filip Forsberg's 14 goals are tied for the most on the the Predators.

Filip Forsberg is sixth on the team with 22 points.

Filip Forsberg hasn't played since Nov. 29 because of a hand injury.

That could change Monday night against the Maple Leafs. Forsberg was activated from injured reserve Monday afternoon and finally could return to the lineup to lend the Predators a hand against Toronto.

"Filip is one of the more important players. Everybody knows that," All-Star goalie Pekka Rinne said. "He’s a guy who can change a game.

"We have to be patient with him. Even as teammates, you always expect big things from Fil. When you're a big-time player, nobody expects more than (you do) from yourself. I know Fil does that. He’s a game breaker."

And the final piece that's been missing from the Predators top line that also includes Ryan Johansen and Viktor Arvidsson.

Miikka Salomaki was placed on injured reserve earlier Monday to make room on the roster for Forsberg.
